The Gallery’s Artists
27 February – 10 April 2014
Opening its annual programme, the Galerie de l’Ancienne Poste which is dedicated to contemporary ceramics, presents a selection of work by the renowned ceramistes who make up their permanent artists.
Focus on Karine Benevenuti
The 2014 collective exhibition focuses particularly on Karine Benvenuti’s latest creations. Karine, who joined the gallery’s permanent artists in 2013, presents here a set of sculptures worked from the block and which are typical of her very specific approach to clay – an approach which was noticed and rewarded by the Jury of the XXII International Biennale of Contemorary Caramics at Vallauris in 2012.
Selection of pieces
In the 2014 exhibition, we discover imparticularly the new sculptures of Alistair Dahieux, who continues his research and pursuit of Forms first presented in the gallery at the end of 2013. The exhibition also features the cylindrical and cut-out Forms of Gustavo Pérez; the ‘Remous’ sculptures of Agathe Larpent worked in wood-fired porcelain; the recent Raku work of Camille Virot, and the animal sculptures of Charlotte Poulsen including a giraffe which prefigures the monumental piece which the artist is currently working on and which will be incorporated into the Park at Saint-Victor-des-Oules near Uzes in the Autumn of 2014.
