Abstract, organic, the new pieces by Alistair Danhieux (b. 1975) will no doubt surprise those familiar with the utilitarian pottery of his early days. " One day, a problem with my kiln encouraged me to take a different path. I started creating purely decorative objects, with round shapes, pure lines and very graphic decorations. "He has been fascinated by art since childhood, and has been influenced by the work of the great ceramist Robert Deblander, as well as by the sculptures of Henry Moore, Brancusi and, more recently, Botero and Anish Kapoor.

After travelling extensively, notably in India and West Africa, Alistair Danhieux settled in the Nièvre region in 2003, where he trained for a year and a half at Cnifop, the pottery school in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, before exhibiting in Toucy, Paris and at the Cité de la Céramique in Sèvres. " A few years ago, I felt the need to get away from throwing, and I began to work in a more sculptural, freer way. For this exhibition, I immersed myself in stoneware, which is more robust than earthenware, to create pieces that will stand the test of time. Fifteen works to discover, in which the artist has tried enamel for the first time, revealing the delicacy of volumes sculpted by light.
